Um novo sensor de 32,5 MP, aliado ao processamento DIGIC X, oferece gravação de vídeo a 7K, disparo contínuo até 40 fps, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II melhorado com Prioridade de Registo de Pessoas, estabilização de imagem mais robusta de 8,5 pontos e a R6 Mark III aceita agora também cartões de memória CFexpress Type B e SD para armazenamento flexível de ficheiros.
 
Oferecendo um aumento de 34% na resolução em relação ao seu antecessor, a R6 Mark III possui um sensor CMOS full-frame de 32,5 MP que proporciona maior nitidez, resolução de impressão e capacidade de recorte. Este sensor funciona em conjunto com um processador DIGIC X para oferecer uma excelente qualidade de imagem, baixo ruído e uma ampla gama de sensibilidade. Além disso, o poder de processamento gere o avançado sistema Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, juntamente com as funções de disparo contínuo, gravação de vídeo e IBIS (estabilização de imagem no corpo).
